Beautiful poetry of our Gerardo Diego over one of the most beautiful rivers in Spain and the largest river with permission of the Ebro. This romance wrote it Gerardo Diego being Professor of language and literature in Soria by the 1920s, city that also spent rather then the beloved Antonio Machado as a French teacher. Both sang the Douro River that gently surrounds the city of Soria. The Romance of the Duero speaks of eternal solitude River despite its evolution that takes in your foam words of love. It is a bit extensive, but it is so beautiful that I transcribe it in another entry.
